In my creative journey, I found inspiration in the materials readily available within the confines of my own home. With a deep passion for art and an ongoing fascination with jellyfish, I embarked on a mission to bring these ethereal creatures to life in a tangible form that could be proudly displayed on a wall. The allure of jellyfish lies in their inherent elegance and the mesmerizing, almost alien-like grace with which they move. Despite appearing as captives of the currents, jellyfish possess the remarkable ability to navigate their surroundings, showcasing their intelligence and adaptability, even without a conventional brain. There is an undeniable sense of otherworldliness and awe-inspiring beauty that surrounds these creatures. Motivated by this captivating allure, I set out to create a series of jellyfish paintings. The canvas of choice for these artworks was wood, providing a sturdy and unique foundation for my creative process. To begin, I applied a wash to the wooden board, setting the tone for the vibrant colors to come. Utilizing spalter paint and spray paint techniques, I carefully built layers of color and texture. To ensure the utmost accuracy and detail, I projected my sketched jellyfish onto the board, allowing me to intricately draw them with colored pencils. Throughout the artistic process, I seamlessly integrated the interplay of spray paint and color pencils, enhancing the visual depth and vibrancy of the artwork. The final touch involved outlining every element with a precise black ink pen, accentuating the intricate details and bringing the composition to life. These two jellyfish paintings on wood stand as a testament to the passion, creativity, and dedication I pour into my artistic endeavors.
